Since 2017, Love Your Magic has been showing up for Black and Brown girls — nurturing their identities, amplifying their voices, and building the kind of community where liberation isn't just a concept, it's a practice. Ten years in, that work has never felt more necessary.
As we celebrate 10 years of impact, we are launching The Magic Was Always You as the theme that will carry us through this entire year of celebration, beginning with our summer camp. This year, we celebrate by remembering. Remembering that the magic was always within us, and we will continue to hold that truth at the center of everything we do.
Summer camps play a pivotal role in shaping the lives of young girls, providing them with invaluable experiences that foster personal growth and lifelong community. Our program intentionally centers on identity development, community, and joy, and is completely free for all participants, with donations welcomed and encouraged.
Designed for Black and Brown girls entering upper elementary and middle school, our camp creates a sacred space for girls to connect deeply, celebrate who they are, and build lasting bonds through culturally significant activities. Our camp counselors are high school girls and Love Your Magic alums who are trained to support younger campers and serve as both mirrors and windows, reflecting girls' own identities back to them while expanding their sense of what's possible.
For us, summer camp is a celebration of the liberating joy of being seen, affirmed, and celebrated in your fullness. Girls are provided breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and spend their days in activities that nourish the fullness of who they are — from swimming and yoga to Love Your Magic sessions rooted in our pillars of self-love, advocacy, community and chosen kinship, leadership, and self-care.
